Former NEUROTICA Singer Auditions For DROWNING POOL
April 7, 2003Former NEUROTICA frontman Kelly Shaefer has reportedly tried out for the DROWNING POOL singer slot left vacant by the death of Dave Williams.
Shaefer, who was recently linked with the new group formed by the former GUNS N' ROSES members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, didn't land the DROWNING POOL gig and has since resumed work on a new solo project, for which he has been cutting tracks at Paradox City Studios in Sarasota, Florida.
"It's AUDIOSLAVE meets QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE," Shaefer said of the new band's musical direction. "Very straight-forward, super-rocking with big hooks, but with a lot of ZEPPELIN-esque qualities, which I really love."
NEUROTICA split up late last year after an eight-year run following a parting-of-the-ways with the WWE-backed Smackdown Records, who released the group's final, self-titled third full-length offering.
